Emerging from financial challenges and changes in leadership, Cerberus Capital Management came to CSA looking to humanize their web presence and increase transparency of their operations. As Design Director, I led a team in designing a new website for Cerberus. This became the first moment of new visual expression and positioning for the firm. Strategy at Every Stage
My first step was to create a new site map that increased transparency of the firm’s offerings, showing that Cerberus is more than just a distressed assets shop. We humanized the firm by telling a better brand story, using custom page templates to celebrate Cerberus’ offerings in unique and engaging ways.

User Experience
Simple and straightforward UX functionality ensured that critical information was easy for users to find. My approach to UX was all about “uncovering content.” This supported the strategic aim of increasing transparency and shifting the public perception of the firm.

Better Bios
Another big strategic aim was to humanize the firm. So, we gave each employee a dedicated Bio Page and new portrait. The portraits show people in more relaxed, full-body poses looking optimistic. I structured the content on the Bio Pages to celebrate employees’ unique experience. Arrows at left and right allow users to flip between different people, aiming to keep users engaged in the experience.

The Nitty Gritty
My team & I provided detailed specifications and guidelines for the type styles, imagery, and module functionality to our development partner upon delivery. A collaborative relationship with the dev partner allowed us to refine motion and typographic details early on in the site build process.
